In celebration of International Mangrove Ecosystem Conservation Day, the community is invited to join a morning mangrove cleanup followed by an environmental education workshop. It’s a great opportunity to give back to nature, learn about local ecosystems, and connect with others who care about Puerto Morelos’ natural beauty.

Puerto Morelos is stepping into the digital future as free public Wi-Fi rolls out across its lively tourist zone.

Beginning in July 2025, Gignet launched the initiative by installing modern Wi-Fi modules at key spots like the main square, the iconic lighthouse, and the scenic waterfront.

Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz praised the move, stating it will significantly enhance life for both locals and visitors.

This is part of turning Puerto Morelos into a “smart city,” putting technology at the center of community improvement.

Travelers and residents now enjoy high-speed internet for sharing memories, calling home, and working remotely—no need to hunt for a café with Wi-Fi.

Local businesses are also optimistic, hoping to attract more tourism and boost the economy.
