Weekly Weather

Step into a little slice of France right in the heart of Puerto Morelos.

Belleville is the town's only authentic French bakery, where the aroma of fresh-baked croissants and baguettes fills the air from morning until afternoon.

Run by a French chef who brought his expertise from France to this Caribbean paradise, this cozy spot serves up buttery pastries, hearty breakfast dishes, and some of the strongest coffee in town.

Whether you're craving a flaky almond croissant or their famous chilaquiles verdes, Belleville delivers that perfect mix of French technique and Mexican heart.

Specialties: French pastries, breakfast dishes, strong coffee

Popular Items: Almond croissant, chilaquiles verdes, baguette sandwiches

Don't miss the almond croissants (go early before they sell out), pain au chocolat, eggs Benedict, and their signature chilaquiles verdes.

The baguette sandwiches are loaded with fresh ingredients, and the French coffee will wake you right up.

What People Are Saying:

"Amazing bread and croissant are as good as in France. The staff is super friendly, and the place is just great." ~ Greg T., Google

"French Toast was superb - some of the best we've ever had and easily enough for two generous portions. Fantastic sandwiches and amazing pastries." ~ Mike B., Google

"Excellent breakfast just how I like it: cappuccino and fresh croissant!" ~ Sissi, Google

"If I lived in Puerto Morelos I would stop here every morning. Went to get a croissant because I heard they were excellent. They are!" ~ Chris H., TripAdvisor

Hours: Tuesday–Sunday, 8:00 AM–2:00 PM (Closed Mondays)
Location: Av. Niños Héroes, just north of the town square near John Gray's Restaurant.
Contact: +52 998 339 8990
Price Range: 100–200 MXN per person

👉 Insider Tip: If you see anything labeled as a “special del día” (often a seasonal tart, fruit galette, or an experimental pastry), grab it immediately. Locals know the French baker puts out very small batches... sometimes as few as 6–8 pieces, and he doesn’t remake them later. These are the items the regulars go for first.

Portside Perspective

🌮 "A balanced diet is a taco in each hand." 🌮

~ Unknown Taco Fan

Insider Tip: Colectivos

Master the Colectivo system if you want the most affordable way to get around town. You can take the local route that connects the beachside with La Colonia for only 10 pesos.

And you can also travel to Cancun or Playa del Carmen by using the “colectivos” (shared minivans). To get to other towns, you can catch them on the west side of Highway 307.

For a route between Puerto Morelos and Cancún, the fare is around 30 MXN one-way

Puerto Pulse

Lola y Moya, one of the most popular breakfast and lunch spots in Puerto Morelos, has earned a 2025 Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice award, which recognizes restaurants that rank among the top 10% worldwide based on consistently excellent reviews.

This local favorite café draws steady praise for friendly service, generous portions, and a homestyle menu that includes standout chilaquiles, crepes, and well-made coffee.

Review notes and the onsite badge confirm the recognition, aligning with the local reputation that keeps the small dining room buzzing. Awards highlight what regulars already know, but it’s the consistent quality that matters here.

Its location on the beach side, an easy walk from the town square along Rafael E. Melgar, makes it a convenient stop before a beach day or market visit.

With Travelers’ Choice status and hundreds of positive reviews, Lola y Moya continues to be a reliable, welcoming choice in Puerto Morelos.

Cancun is hosting Mexico's most important theater festival for the first time in its 45-year history.

The 45th National Theatre Showcase runs through November 15, bringing 29 productions and 87 activities to venues across the city, from Teatro de la Ciudad to outdoor stages at Parque de las Palapas.

Over 500 artists from 16 states are participating, with programming focused on migration, mestizaje, and multiculturalism, themes that resonate deeply with life on our Caribbean coast.

Governor Mara Lezama opened the festival, calling it "an act of cultural justice" for the region.

The prestigious Medalla Xavier Villaurrutia was awarded to Luis Martín Garza Gutiérrez from Nuevo León during the ceremony.

Most events are free and family-friendly, making it an accessible cultural experience for Puerto Morelos residents willing to make the 25-minute trip north.

For locals planning to attend, expect heavy traffic near downtown Cancun during evening shows, limited parking around popular venues, and crowds at Parque de las Palapas.

The festival showcases the region's growing cultural importance beyond beaches and cenotes, while providing networking opportunities for local theater companies.

Check the official program at mnt.inba.gob.mx for current schedules and venue information.

Adoptable Furry Friend

🐾 Hi, I’m Pamela!

I’m a one year-old girl, medium-to-small in size — the perfect fit for cuddles, couches, and adventures.

I was rescued from an apartment with my mom and my siblings, and ever since then I’ve been waiting for my new forever friend to come get me.

I’m active like any fun young pup, but I’m also muy noble… which means I’m gentle, loving, and easy to be around.

I’ve been at the shelter for months, watching other dogs go home. I’m happy for them... but I’m hoping my turn is coming soon.

I love walks, playing, exploring, and giving (and getting!) lots of affection. I’m cheerful, healthy, spayed, vaccinated, and so ready to start my real life.

Wanna meet me? I'm in Cancún. Send a message to my friends at Adopta un Amigo and tell them Pamela sent you!

Mucbipollo (also spelled mukbil pollo). Yucatan locals also refer to this special dish as Pib because the dish is cooked in a píib (earth pit oven).
