Puerto Morelos is embarking on a major urban transformation with several key infrastructure projects announced by Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz in September 2025.
The Municipal Institute for Urban Development Planning (Implan), under director Víctor Aragón Madrigal, is leading these initiatives focused on sustainability and community improvement.
The centerpiece is a comprehensive bicycle network featuring 15 kilometers of dedicated bike lanes connecting residential areas to schools, markets, and beaches.
This project includes a unique BiciEscuela program launching in 2026, developed in partnership with the Mapaches MTB Puerto Morelos Cycling Club, to teach cycling skills and road safety to residents of all ages.
Additional projects include a new district park with sports facilities and green spaces, a modern municipal market to support local vendors, and an animal control center addressing stray animal welfare.
These developments aim to enhance quality of life for residents while maintaining Puerto Morelos' distinctive coastal character and promoting eco-friendly transportation alternatives in this growing Caribbean community. Read More... |

Adoptable Furry Friend |
Hi, I’m Bob Marley! I’m a 4-year-old small boy with long, fluffy hair, looking for my forever home.
I’m a loving, calm, and cheerful dog who’s happiest when I’m close to my humans. I love being held, cuddled, sleeping by your side, and following you everywhere you go.
I get along great with other dogs, and I’d really love it if my new home had a doggie friend for me. I can be a little shy when I meet new people, but once I trust you, I’ll be your loyal shadow and totally devoted to you.
I’m super calm on walks and car rides, and I’m great at living in apartments or small spaces, as long as you give me attention and take me out for daily walks.
My health is all taken care of: I’m vaccinated, dewormed, neutered, and my teeth are super clean!
All I dream of is a home where I’ll be kept indoors, understood, and loved every day.
If you want to make me part of your family, just fill out the adoption application at the link below.
I can’t wait to meet you! ❤️ 🐾 |
