Insider Tip: Sunrise Spot |
The beach near Unico Beach Club has some of the clearest views out to the horizon. Best part... very few people are up that early, so you’ll have the colors (and tranquility) mostly to yourself. |
Local Matters |
Puerto Morelos is getting ready for a special Day of the Dead celebration, "Janal Pixan 2025," on November 1 and 2.
This unique event honors loved ones who have passed, blending ancient Mayan and Catholic traditions. It brings the community together and supports local businesses.
The highlight is a boat parade where vessels are decorated with colorful Day of the Dead themes. Boat owners can enter a contest, but decorations must be marine-friendly and plastic-free.
Other contests include hotels making giant Catrinas, artists creating smaller Catrinas and Alebrijes, and businesses decorating their storefronts.
These entries are judged on creativity and sustainable materials. Registration deadlines for these vary, mostly in late October.
This festival offers an unforgettable experience for locals and visitors to immerse themselves in a beautiful Mexican tradition. Read More... |
Planning to visit Mexico's famous ancient ruins like Tulum, Chichen Itza, or Cobá?
Get ready for a budget change in 2026. New government rules mean entry fees for many popular sites are going up, especially for international visitors.
Starting January 1, 2026, the cost for foreigners to enter places like Tulum will roughly double. It will jump from about $5 USD to $11.50 USD.
Mexican citizens will see only a small increase, keeping their visits very affordable.
These price hikes aren't just for Tulum; they affect many top archaeological sites across Mexico. Famous spots like Palenque and the Cancun Mayan Museum will also cost more.
For a family of four, visiting just two major sites could mean spending nearly $100 USD on tickets alone.
The government says these extra funds will help maintain and preserve Mexico's incredible historical sites. While prices are rising, the experience of exploring these ancient wonders remains unforgettable.
Remember to plan your travel budget carefully for your next adventure. Read More... |
