For those unfamiliar with the tradition, Carnaval is a nationwide pre-Lenten festival. It's a final, exuberant celebration of indulgence and revelry before the 40-day period of solemnity and fasting of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday [2]. Across Mexico, Carnaval is marked by a series of vibrant events designed to let loose and leave worries behind. Common traditions include:
- The Quema del Mal Humor (Burning of Bad Mood): An effigy, often of an unpopular public figure, is burned to symbolically cleanse the community of negativity before the party starts.

The Venue: Where the Magic Happens
The main festivities for the 2026 Carnaval will be held at the Campo de Béisbol "Nicolás 'El Zurdo' Estrella". All events are free and open to the public.
This baseball field is located in the Colonia Pescadores neighborhood, at the entrance of the main town.
For those new to the area, the "Colonia Pescadores" is a well-known residential and commercial neighborhood on the east side of the main highway (Highway 307).
The stadium sits on Calle Jose Maria Morelos, the road that runs through the Mangroves to the port side. The baseball field is a prominent local landmark.
