That's where Burger Underground comes in.
This local burger joint is Puerto Morelos' answer to burger cravings done right. Hand-crafted patties made fresh daily with 100% real ground beef, hand-cut fries that are crispy and perfectly seasoned, locally sourced vegetables, and house-made dipping sauces.
The philosophy is straightforward: keep the food real, keep the atmosphere fun, and get you in and out quickly without sacrificing quality.
Whether you're dining in at their casual outdoor seating or ordering delivery (that's actually how they started), Burger Underground delivers the kind of comfort food that tastes like home.
This place has earned its reputation as Puerto Morelos' best burger destination. Families love it, kids love it, and travelers who've been eating seafood all week absolutely love it. "I'm not much for seafood so when we found this little gem in downtown Puerto Morelos we had to try it out. It was absolutely amazing! The burger was so good, cooked perfectly and loaded with fresh lettuce, tomato and onions, I like crispy bacon and they nailed that too! Portions were large and very reasonably priced." ~ Tammy P. (TripAdvisor) "The burgers were amazing! We ordered five different burgers. they were definitely homemade, way better than any franchise burger can deliver. I recommend the pickled jalapenos those are really good added onto your burger or on the side. This place does not disappoint, It's a definite must food stop!" ~ Shawn Marie G. (Facebook) "Their burgers are absolute perfection. The fries are done perfectly. Can't beat the price, either. Highly recommend!!" ~ Alicia D. (TripAdvisor)What People Are Saying:

Insider Tip April offers some of the best diving conditions of the year. The water is calm, the temperature is a comfortable 77-82°F (25-28°C), and the visibility on the Puerto Morelos reef is excellent. Local News Puerto Morelos Turns Hotel Food Waste Into Puerto Morelos is finding a clever way to turn trash into treasure. The town is leading new projects that protect the local ecosystem while helping the local economy grow. The town has teamed up with El Cid Resorts to collect food waste. Instead of going to a dump, these leftovers are given to local producers to help them grow crops. Farmers use special access cards to pick up the scraps and turn them into fertilizer. Every day, about 2.5 tons of organic waste is recycled for agricultural use. Puerto Morelos is also finding ways to use the massive amounts of seaweed that wash up on its beaches. Exploring ways the seaweed can be turned into biogas (methane) or used for building material and Insulation material. Collecting the seaweed is a big challenge because it is very expensive to move. However, cleaning the beaches prevents pollution and keeps the beautiful waterfront healthy for everyone. This new approach is changing how the town handles its biggest environmental problems. Keep an eye on the coast to see how these big ideas come to life. World-Class Ballet Is Coming Get ready for a night of world-class magic and dance right in your own backyard! The Panama National Ballet is heading to Playa del Carmen for a special performance this month. The famous group will perform the "Don Quixote" suite on April 15 and 16. These shows will start at 7 p.m. at the Teatro de la Ciudad in Playa del Carmen. This production is known for being full of high energy, colorful costumes, and humor. It is considered one of the most exciting and fun shows in the world of classical ballet. The company is led by artistic director Sasha Adamovic, a famous dancer from Serbia. His talented team has performed in many countries like Russia, Japan, Spain, and Brazil. Usually, big shows like this only visit huge cities like Mexico City or Guadalajara. Having this level of talent in Playa del Carmen is a very rare and special treat for local residents. The drive from Puerto Morelos is only about 30 minutes, making it a perfect evening out. You can enjoy the show and still be back home before it gets too late. Tickets are on sale now through the website tusboletos.mx. Grab yours today because a world-class event like this will likely sell out fast! Cancún Turns 56 This April, And Puerto Morelos Cancún is turning 56 this April, and the party is going to be huge! Neighbors in nearby Puerto Morelos have plenty of great reasons to join the celebration. Cancún started as a tiny sandbar in 1970 before becoming a world-famous city. To celebrate this growth, the city is hosting a massive free concert on April 19. The popular band Los Ángeles Azules will perform at Malecón Tajamar. You can also expect colorful parades and cultural activities throughout the month. The full official schedule will be released soon, so keep an eye on the Cancún municipal announcements before making plans. If you want a quieter day, visit the ancient Maya site called El Meco. It sits just outside the city and is much older than Cancún itself. For residents in Puerto Morelos, the drive is only about 35 kilometers north. This makes it an easy and family-friendly trip that is far less crowded than major ruins. These events are a perfect way to celebrate the region's unique history. Don't miss out on the free fun this April! Sargassum Report Sargassum Season 2026 Started Early, The Riveira Maya 2026 "seaweed season" started early this year. Already massive amounts of brown sargassum have been hitting Puerto Morelos beaches months before it was expected. The seaweed season usually starts in April, but it showed up much sooner this year. Scientists say there is more seaweed in the ocean than usual right now. State officials have already started a budget plan to handle the mess. They want to keep the beaches beautiful for visitors and locals. The Mexican Navy is leading the cleanup with special boats. These ships catch the seaweed in the ocean before it can reach the sand. Huge floating barriers are also being placed in the water. Workers have already put up over 7,000 meters of these fences to protect the shore. Puerto Morelos is a top priority because of its famous coral reef. This reef acts like a natural wall that helps block some of the seaweed. Even with the reef’s help, local crews still work every day to clear the beaches. Visitors should check local conditions before heading out to the water through July.
