Playa del Carmen recently opened the largest free ice skating rink in all of Quintana Roo. This exciting new attraction is set up in Plaza 28 de Julio. It's designed to bring joy and fun to families throughout the holiday season.

 

The rink is part of Playa del Carmen’s "Magical Christmas 2025" program. It aims to create a special place for everyone to enjoy. Best of all, it's completely free for all visitors.

 

Making the Trip from Puerto Morelos

 

For those of us in Puerto Morelos, a trip to Playa del Carmen is quite easy. It’s a short drive, usually around 20 to 30 minutes. You can take a colectivo, a taxi, or your own car to get there.

 

The ice rink is open every evening from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. It will stay open until January 6, 2026. This gives plenty of time to plan a fun evening outing with family or friends.
