Finding trusted businesses in Puerto Morelos just got easier. Our beautiful town is making big strides to help visitors feel safe and confident. This is thanks to a special program that lists reliable local businesses.

What is Retur-Q?

Retur-Q stands for the Quintana Roo State Tourism Registry. It is an official list of tourism businesses that are legally registered with the state and meet basic safety and paperwork requirements.

The registry is required by state law for most tourism service providers, and it is published online so anyone can look up businesses in our area.

This registry helps you know which places are officially recognized and trustworthy. It's a great tool for anyone visiting the Mexican Caribbean, including our lovely Puerto Morelos.

Growing Trust in Our Town

Our Mayor, Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz, shared some exciting news. A total of 129 businesses in Puerto Morelos are now part of Retur-Q. This is a huge jump from last year.

According to recent municipal and state reports, that represents around a 126 percent increase compared with a little over 50 businesses that were on the registry in 2024.

This shows that more and more local businesses are keeping their permits, training and insurance up to date, which is a big win for safety and peace of mind.

Benefits for Our Town's Businesses

When a business registers with Retur-Q, it is not just a badge, it is also part of meeting a legal requirement for tourism providers in Quintana Roo.

The State Secretariat of Tourism, or Sedetur, helps them with training and often gives them priority for special events.

Being on the list means businesses have their permits and documents in order, their staff receive training, and they carry insurance in case something unexpected happens.

Why This Matters for Visitors

For you, our valued visitors, this registry is a good first safety check. You can easily see if a business is officially recognized by the state and operating with the proper permits.

It does not rate the quality of service, but it does give you more confidence and security during your stay.

The website even shows where businesses are located on a map. So, if you need a pharmacy or a gym, you can find trusted options quickly and easily.

A Wide Range of Services

Many different types of businesses in Puerto Morelos can join Retur-Q. This includes restaurants, hotels, and local artisans. You can also find grocery stores, travel agencies, and car rentals.

The list covers spas, water parks, boutiques, and even tattoo studios. Water sports experts, photographers, and jewelry stores are also part of this growing network.

Our Community Benefits

This program is a win-win for everyone in Puerto Morelos. It helps local businesses stay legal, visible and better trained.

It also makes our town a safer and more transparent place for visitors choosing where to spend their money.
