Thanks to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, travelers to Mexico now have access to a new free travel app that may be useful long after the final whistle blows.

The app is called México Invita, or “Mexico Invites You,” and it was launched as an official tool to help World Cup visitors explore the country.

But its most helpful features are not just for soccer fans. For anyone traveling to Mexico, or already living here and planning a getaway, the app works like a pocket-sized visitor guide with practical travel information, destination ideas, and safety resources in one place.

What You’ll Find Inside

México Invita is organized into three main sections: Discover Mexico, 2026 FIFA World Cup Information, and Useful Services. While the World Cup section will be helpful for fans attending matches, the other two sections are the real everyday travel gems.

The Discover Mexico section includes information on all 32 Mexican states, not just the host cities.

Travelers can browse tourism routes, Pueblos Mágicos (Mexico’s charming “Magic Towns”), gastronomy, cultural attractions, museums, archaeological zones, artisan routes, accommodation recommendations, and a tourist events calendar.

In other words, it is a good place to look for ideas beyond the usual tourist stops. It can help visitors discover a nearby town, regional food specialty, local festival, museum, or scenic route they might not have found on their own.

The Practical Part: Useful Services

The Useful Services section may be one of the app’s most valuable tools for visitors unfamiliar with Mexico.

It includes important resources such as emergency number 911, México Contigo kiosks, Green Angels roadside assistance, and other traveler support services.

That can be especially helpful for road trips, first-time visitors, or anyone who wants key travel information close at hand without searching multiple websites.

How to Download It

México Invita is free and available for both Android and iPhone. It can be used in Spanish or English, making it especially helpful for international travelers.

To download it, search “México Invita” in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Travelers should make sure they are downloading the official government app, developed by INFOTEC or linked to Mexico’s federal tourism and digital government program.

Although México Invita was created with the World Cup in mind, officials have said the app will continue operating as a mobile tourism guide after the tournament concludes.

So whether someone is coming for soccer, sunshine, food, history, beaches, or a quick weekend escape, this is a free Mexico travel tool worth having on the phone.
