The New England Patriots Cheerleaders touched down in Puerto Morelos over the last couple of weeks, choosing our beautiful shores as the backdrop for their highly anticipated 2027 swimsuit and resort calendar.

It's the kind of international spotlight that puts our little town on the map.

A Perfect Destination for a Professional Shoot

While Puerto Morelos is famous for its laid-back vibe and stunning reef, it turns out it's also the perfect location for a professional, high-profile photo shoot.

The squad set up their home base just north of downtown at the  Dreams Sapphire Resort & Spa, where they spent several days juggling an impressive itinerary.

Behind-the-Scenes on Social Media

Leading up to the trip, the team teased their travel plans to their massive social media following, officially announcing they were headed to Dreams Sapphire.

Once they arrived, the cheerleaders shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos and videos across Facebook and Instagram, showcasing our spectacular beaches and the resort's amenities to thousands of NFL fans.

More Than Just Photos

During their stay, the squad did far more than just pose for calendar shots. They participated in fitness training sessions, wellness experiences, and special gastronomic activities.

The visit even concluded with a special presentation at the resort, marking the official close of their Puerto Morelos adventure.

A Tradition of Tropical Shoots

This kind of tropical destination shoot is a long-standing tradition for the Patriots Cheerleaders, who have previously traveled to places like Costa Rica for their annual calendar.  But this year, it was Puerto Morelos' turn in the spotlight. 

The local government took notice too. Karina Vázquez Díaz, the Secretary of Sustainable Tourism, emphasized that having a group of worldwide projection like the Patriots Cheerleaders choose Puerto Morelos represents invaluable promotion for the destination. 

She highlighted the municipality's commitment to keeping its doors open to celebrities, athletes, and international productions that help position Puerto Morelos on the world map of the hospitality industry.

Global Recognition for Our Destination

For Puerto Morelos, it's a fantastic bit of publicity. Not only did the resort get a major shoutout, but the natural beauty of our coastline, our architecture, and our hospitality were broadcast to a massive, engaged audience.
