Nov 20, 2025
A fantastic free reggae festival is happening just a short trip up the road in Cancun this month. It is a perfect chance to enjoy some great music and the beautiful Caribbean coast.
Reggae Rhythms on Langosta Beach
The fourth annual Reggae Fest CancĂşn is set for Saturday, November 22, 2025. It will take place at Playa Langosta, right in Cancun's Hotel Zone.
The party starts at 3:00 p.m. and will go on into the evening. Best of all, entry is completely free for everyone.
This event is organized by the Benito Juárez City Council, along with Radio Cultural Ayuntamiento (RCA) and local band Corpusklan.
They want it to be a fun, family-friendly event. It is a great way for locals and visitors to come together on one of Cancun’s most welcoming public beaches.
Getting There From Puerto Morelos
For us in Puerto Morelos, getting to Playa Langosta is quite simple. You can take a colectivo from the highway, which is a very affordable option.
From Puerto Morelos, take a colectivo toward CancĂşn and get off in downtown. From there, hop on the R1 or R2 bus toward the Hotel Zone and get off around km 5 at Playa Langosta.
If you are driving, be aware that parking at Playa Langosta is limited. With around 7,000 people expected, it will fill up very early.
We recommend leaving early from Puerto Morelos, no matter how you travel. This will help you beat the traffic and find a good spot.
What to Expect and Bring
Playa Langosta is known for its calm, shallow water, which is great for kids.
The beach has plenty of sand to spread out, but arrive early to grab a good spot. There are public restrooms, showers, and a small playground available.
As locals, we know the Cancun sun can still be strong, even in November. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water to stay hydrated.
A light blanket or beach mat will be nice for sitting, and a dry bag for your phone is always a good idea.
Cash is also handy for any small purchases as most vendors won't accept credit or debit cards.
A Diverse Musical Lineup
This year's festival promises an exciting lineup of six reggae and reggae-fusion bands.
You will hear from local legends Corpusklan, celebrating 20 years on stage.
Other acts include Paradise Reggae Band from Guatemala, I and I from Yucatán, and Somos Uno from Tijuana. Cancun’s own Los Buena Vida will also play.
A special treat will be Oneil Diamond, a Jamaican artist bringing authentic sounds from the birthplace of reggae.
This international mix means a rich and vibrant musical experience for everyone. RCA will also be celebrating its 45th anniversary during the festival.
Reggae Fest Cancun is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy great music, soak up the sun, and experience a lively local event. It is a wonderful way to spend a Saturday, just a short drive from our quiet town. |
