Cold craft beer, live music, and ocean breezes... Puerto Morelos is about to host something it has never seen before.
What's Happening
The 1st Festival de Cerveza del Caribe (Caribbean Beer Festival) comes to Puerto Morelos April 17-19, 2026, starting at 3:00 PM.
The venue is Parque Fundadores, the town square in the heart of the town's historic center, just steps from the famous leaning lighthouse.
Entry fee for each day is 250 MXN and can be purchased at the event. Beer tastings and food are extra. Advanced tickets are available via TicketFly the official ticket source.
More than 30 breweries from Mexico and other countries will be pouring over 120 different styles, including special editions and exclusive brews made just for this event.
More Than Just Beer
Festival organizer Eduardo Butrón made it clear this is not just a drinking event. High-end food, live music, and family-friendly activities are all part of the plan.
"We want this festival to become a benchmark for the Mexican Caribbean," Butrón said. "More than just a beer event, we aim to create an experience that celebrates culture, flavor, and community by the sea."
The goal is also economic. Organizers want to support small and emerging breweries by giving them a real platform to connect with buyers, build relationships, and reach new customers.
A Local Spot Worth Knowing
If you want to make a full day of it, local vendor Oscar Antonio Estrella Fuentes, known around town as "El Pingüino," is inviting people to stop by his snack bar "Pisa y Corre" near the baseball stadium on April 17.
He's promising seafood, snacks, cold beers, and live music at the bar. It's a great warm-up spot before heading over to the festival, or a relaxed wind-down after.
Why This Matters for Puerto Morelos
Puerto Morelos has long been the quieter, more laid-back neighbor between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. Events like this one help put the town on the map without changing what makes it special.
Organizers are also looking for breweries, food vendors, sponsors, and partners who want to participate. Interested parties can reach out to the organizing committee directly by email or phone (see website).
