While Mexican law requires only that passports remain valid during the trip, airlines often demand six months of remaining validity.  That means your passport could be technically fine under Mexican law, but an airline agent at your departure gate back home could still refuse to let you board.

What Happens if You Are Denied

One More Change to Know

Mexico has digital immigration systems for some travelers and entry processes, but the availability and use of paper or digital forms can vary by point of entry. Your valid passport is now the primary document at the border.

Also, if a visitor fee applies to your trip, confirm the current amount with your airline or the relevant Mexican authorities before traveling. This is typically bundled into your airline ticket, but worth confirming.
