Ever wondered about the bumpy roads in Puerto Morelos? Well, get ready for some smooth sailing on a very important street.
Vallarta Street, a vital artery in our town, is getting a much‑needed upgrade. This is big news for residents and daily commuters alike.
A Major Investment in Our Streets
On September 25, 2025, Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz officially launched the full reconstruction of a key stretch of Vallarta Street.
The project has a budget of 5,221,594 pesos and is expected to directly benefit more than 6,000 residents of the Tierra Nueva neighborhood.
The work covers the section between Timón Avenue and Brújula Street and is part of the 2025 Works Program.
Crews have already begun preliminary work, which will include laying a new hydraulic base, five centimeters of fresh asphalt, and new signage for both drivers and pedestrians.
Temporary Bumps for Future Smooth Rides
Mayor Tziu Muñoz acknowledged that construction will cause some temporary inconvenience.
She asked for everyone's patience, emphasizing that the final outcome will be incredibly rewarding. We will soon enjoy a safer, modern, and fully functional street.
This street is a daily path for countless residents. Families, students, and workers rely on it every day. It connects older neighborhoods with the more urban parts of Puerto Morelos, making it one of the busiest in town.
Growing with Our Community
The mayor underlined that the project is possible thanks to careful management of municipal funds. It shows a commitment to improving infrastructure as our town grows.
Mario Salinas Castro, head of Public Works, stressed that Vallarta is more than asphalt and machinery—it is a promise of better mobility, fewer accidents, and improved conditions for both pedestrians and drivers.
Every meter rebuilt represents a step toward a higher quality of life in Puerto Morelos. While the construction is underway, the focus remains on the end goal: a smoother, safer Vallarta Street for everyone.
